Hi,
I used MP3 succesfully under XP. Now I have a new computer with Win7. I reinstalled all: MP3 3.1, Skype 5.9.0.114, I connected MP3 to Sype successfully, all recording and audio equipment has been tested (Win7 recorder) and is in working condition but the Skype conversation recording file is not saved. Please help (currently I have to conduct recording sessions on my old computer).
Maurice

Please specify what you mean by "not saved".
If there are no files please check that Recording is On (the button with red circle is pressed) and Skype recorder is allowed to connect to Skype:
- Open Skype window
- Click 'Tools' in the upper menu. You will see the dropdown list. The last item in it is 'Options'. Click it.
- The new window with options should appear. There will be a tab list on the right. Click the last one - 'Advanced'.
You should see 'Manage other programs' access to Skype' in the bottom above 'Save' and 'Cancel buttons.
- Click 'Manage other programs' access to Skype'. You will see new window.
- Locate MP3SkypeRecorder.exe in the list.
- Check if it is 'Allowed to use Skype'. If not click 'Change' button. And then 'OK' to close this window.
- Then back in previous window click 'Save'
If the recordings are 0Kb check if personal firewall is blocking connection between Skype and Skype recorder and no other recorders interfere with MP3 Skype recorder.

I have the same problem as above - though with me everything is connected andrecording  ON - its just that the recorder is - waiting for skype even when i recive or make a call.
Please help,

david

It looks like one of the libraries is missing or not registered properly.
- Please open program folder (default C:\Program Files\MP3 Skype Recorder)
- Check that Skype4COM.dll file is there
- Open command prompt/shell by running cmd command. You should see black window, DOS style.
- go to the program folder cd C:\Program Files\MP3 Skype recorder (the path is different on 64bit systems)
- run the following command regsvr32.exe Skype4COM.dll
- restart the recorder

Hello I've tried unistalling and reinstalling the MP3 Skype Recorder v 3.1 but it still doesn't appear in the manange API access control'.

Hi, I have Skype v. 5.8.0.158, which it says is the latest version (I tried to redownload it to fix the issue) and my OS is Windows 7. As I go through the steps to make the Recorder work, I go to Skype, get to the "manage API Access" window, and in your instructions, it shows that the MP3 Skype Recorder should show up in the window for me to click to allow it access. However, no programs show up in the window. Based on other responses I've seen, I went to the Windows Firewall manager, allowed MP3 Skype Recorder access, and still, no change to the "manage API access" window. Please advise.

Nevermind, found the information below and was able to fix it through the command prompt solution. Thank you.

My Skype version is 5.8.0.158 and MP3 Skype Recorder is 3.1, is this two compatible with each other? Last week, the recorder worked but then today it didn't. I don't know what happen. It is in my tray and also at my desktop. No matter how I click the recording ON, it won't budge. Please help!

My Skype recorder stopped saving the recordings today. I have conducted 6 interviews for my dissertation and all was fine but today I lost one interview recording. I tried it again many times since then, it says it's recording but then when I go to the folder with the files, I find that nothing is saved :((( So frustrating. I am using the latest version of Skype, just updated yesterday.

I received a few similar questions lately referencing Skype update. Today MP3 Skype recorder was tested with the very latest Skype version - 5.9.0.114 and it's working fine. Please check that your Skype build is  5.9.0.114  or later. At least once, there was a situation when Skype published a new version/build with some bug in Skype API - the part responsible for connection with 3rd party software. They fix it quickly with the new build, which was published a few hours lately. Probably same here.

Can you please indicate what is your Skype version including build and revision numbers.

Please note that MP3 Skype recorder starting version 3.1 is showing actual size of recording made so far during the conversation. It is shown in status bar - bottom of recording window, the figures are updating during recording and shown in red. You can always see if the recording is actually in progress.

Ok, I am having a huge problem with my skype recorder. I dont kknow whats going on, I have unistalled skype reinstalled, updated skype updated the recorder reinstalled the rcorder, but everytime this happens! How the hell do I fix this! I have tried finding it in app data and have deleted every file of it then reinstalled it. I doesnt work. Please help, I need this. It was working until a month ago and now everytime i re-install it this happens:

 Hi,
I am using the latest Skype Recorder 3.1 and Skype version 5.9. I have changed the default save location to one that suits ne better but after receiving two calls the file is empty. The recorder is popping up when i take a call. Can anyone suggest what may be going on here?

Hi,
I have Skype v5.9.0.114, recorder 3.1, and Windows XP. Recently, the recorder has stopped splitting the channels in stereo mode.  I only seem to have one channel as I hear both sides of the conversations coming out of both speakers. Instead of me in one speaker and the other person in the other. I've never had a problem with this before now. Any suggestions?

Hello,
I am using windows XP and skype 5.9. I have a problem when I want to record outgoing calls. I can record my own voice, but not the voice of the other person. However when I only plug my microphone in I can record the other persons voice. However I work in an open office and it is quite annoying if the whole office has to hear me doing interviews.
How can I solve this?

 Hi
I am using the recorder for over a year and have my skype calls recorded and never checked to listen to them. Today I was looking for a specific call and realized that it does not record my voice. I checked on old files and because I have it installed on my laptop and the desktop units checked both computers and all files I can hear the other party but not myself.
The OS is Windows 7
Skype 8.8.0.158
MP3 recorder 3.1 set to Mode Stereo and 32 bitrate

i am new to skype recorder but it is saying "cannot connect to skype" i uninstalled and reinstalled but still cannot connnect to skype. Why is this?

I am having this same problem, can someone please help? I followed the instructions but Skype is not listing anything in the Manage API Access Control. Thanks!

The recorder started recording perfectly, but after only a few seconds of the conversation stopped, although it said it was "recording". I only found this out when the conversasion ended and I wanted to play it back. Why did this happen?? My email address is [email protected]
Regards

You can always check that the recording is actually in progress. There is a status string in the bottom of recorder window and it shows actual recording file size done so far. Normally the recorder should not stop unless Skype conversation stopped or recording off button was pressed. Please check that no personal firewall is blocking audio stream between Skype and Skype recorder and the recording button is pressed for automatic recording. Unfortunately I can't point the problem in your case, it is not enough information. In rear cases this could happen if network connection was down forcing Skype to reestablish connection.  New version of MP3 Skype recorder is under development and there will be significant changes including the part responsible for Skype to Skype recorder connection.

I love this program!
It works like a charm!
Is there any way to disable the annoying pop-up after each call ends?
-MF

I want ot make a suggestion to change your file naming convention to put the phone number at the beginning of the name so we can sort recorded calls by phone number.  Please note that Windows Explorer displays the date and time for each file which allows sorting by date and time.  Thanks!
-MF

Great utility!  Please consider putting a delete button on the "Recording Finished" pop up.  This would allow fast deletion of "no answer" or other types of calls that you know you don't want to keep.
Thanks!

I am using a Logitech Pro video cam as my mic and my speakers, Skype 5.9.0.115 and MP3 Skype Recorder 3.1.
I tested it using the Skype test call service. It records, but when I play it back, I only hear my voice but not the incoming voice. Can you help?

mp3 skype call recorder stopped working when skype 5.9.0.115 installed itself. now i get 'could not connect to skype'. followed the manual in setting the recorder up - still doesn't work. went to reinstall recorder and clicked repair button and still it doesn't work. i didn't change anything and the recorder stopped working. i am using 64bit windows 7. any ideas?

Please try clean reinstallation. Uninstall recorder, restart the computer, install the latest version and restart the computer once again.

When I first run the program it doesn't come up with the message on skype, what do I need to do?
