Report an issue with MP3 Skype Recorder v 3.1

This is a topic to report any issues with MP3 Skype Recorder v.3.1

If you have any problem please post below. Please indicate your OS and Skype version.

 Hello.

1. I'm not sure what update message you are getting. The recorder doesn't through any messages to update. Please make a screenshot and send it to my email. I really would like to see what you are talking about.

2. The recorder will record every call automatically once the Record button (red circle) is pressed. Do not press Stop button, the recording will stop automatically once call is ended. If you press Stop button automatic recording will be off. The recording button should be pressed as shown on the image below for automatic recording.

It used to work just fine. Now, it keeps "Waiting for user authorization to connect to Skype client." I do have Skype set to authorize the MP3 Skype Recorder. I also get the .NET Framework error message. I can not get the Recorder to work at all. I have Win7 and .Net Framework 4. I have uninstalled/reinstalled .NET Framework and the Recorder but no luck. What can be going on???????

Try to reinstall recorder. You said that you set Skype authorization to allow Skype recorder access. But please double check this as described  in manual. Generally  "Waiting for user authorization to connect to Skype client." status means that it fail to get access to Skype due restrictions from Skype.

I have uninstalled and re-installed several times. No luck. The MP3 Recorder will not be recognized by Skype. It used to work but I can not get it to work any more. And I still get the NET. error.

For the sake of clarity:
- Sing in to Skype using your account (account you will record)
- Open Skype window
- Click 'Tools' in the upper menu. You will see the dropdown list. The last item in it is 'Options'. Click it.
- The new window with options should appear. There will be a tab list on the left. Click the last tab - 'Advanced'.
You should see 'Manage other programs' access to Skype' in the bottom above 'Save' and 'Cancel buttons.
- Click 'Manage other programs' access to Skype'. You will see new window.
- Locate MP3 Skype Recorder.exe in the list.
- Check if it is 'Allowed to use Skype'. If not click 'Change' button. And then 'OK' to close this window.
- Click 'Save'

When I go and find the file of my recorded conversation, it doesn't play and it says there's some sort of error.

Hi I have been using skype recorder for a few weeks and it was recording fine, it use to always let me know when it was recording. Now the last couple of times it doesnt appear to be recording the file is not in the folder where I have all the recordings. When I click the record button it doesn't come up saying recording, and I have checked skype to make sure that skype recorder is the allowed.  I checked my fire wall and skype recorder has access I am using skye 5.5.0.124
If it is recording and its going somewhere else I don't where its going and cant find any recordings.

I just downloaded the recorder.  When it loaded there was a message saying that it didn't connect with Skype.  I rebooted the computer and went to the Advanced area of Skype Options and clicked on the "Manage other programs' access to Skype" and the program does not appear there.
Help?  I am on Skype 5.5..

 Hi hope you can help me out,  Im using windows 7 and skype version 5.5.59.124
the recording is successful, it will be saved on my desktop automatically but when i tried opening it, i got this error :

What does this mean?

It looks like your default player is VLC (VideoLan)

If you google your error you will find lots of discussions on the same error

Please try any other player for recordings. Right click on file and click Open with option from the dropdown menu. Choose any other player, like Window Media player or any other available on your system.

 I am operating Mac OS 10.6.8.  I have Skype 5.6.0143.  The LINK to this page says FOR MAC. Howvevr, I can only see downloads for Windows.  Where is the Free MP3 Skype Recorder for MAC??

Hello! 
At me a problem with MP3 Skype v. 3.1 the such.
As I begin dialogue in Skype, record is started.
But starts to write down only after 30 seconds of dialogue.
And when I listen to the record, the first to the cop hasn't written down.
What's the problem?

 i used Skype Recorder successfully for 5 days straight.  today it isn't working. it still shows that 'Recording: ON'.  I have restarted both skype and recorder and it still isn't recording.

Please check the following:
- Open Skype window

Unhandled exception has occured in your application. Configuration system failed to initialize. I dont know what this means or how to fix it. i use windows 7 and i have no idea what skype version i have(didnt know there was more than one). please help. my skype sessions are court ordered to be recorded and i already missed my last session because i cant get this to work and will probably have to skip tonights session.

When are you getting this error? During installation? On a startup?
Is there details button on the error dialog. Click it if it's there and copy paste error message.
Too little information currently. This could be corrupted .Net Framework, Windows intaller or something else.
Please try to update .NET Framework this could help if it is .NET Framework  issue.

 I was having problem with the .mp3 recording overlaying a second instance of my voice (conversation) after about a 20 second lag. The .mp3 had the entire conversation, but about 20 seconds in I could hear myself conversation starting over again; a second track of me speaking. I tried Stereo and Mono but had the same problem. After I switched to Joint Stereo this seemed to fix that recording problem. This was happening when I called the Skype Echo/Sound Test service to make sure everything was working correctly.

 Since I installed the latest skype update I keep getting this unhandled exception every time MP3 Skype Recorder 3.1 is getting started or I attempt to change the settings:
(I did a clean reinstall and the issue remains.)

 I accidently removed the recorder from Skypes 'Manage API Access Control' box.  I have reinstalled both yours and skype and it isn't showing back up.  How can I add it?
 

 i not only don't see 'access panel' but when I go to Tools-Options-Advanced-Manage 'skype recorder' is not listed as one of the options to change or remove.  I accidently deleted it from this box.  i have uninstalled and reinstalled skype recorder and updated skype and it still doesn't show 'skype recorder' as an option under the 'Manage API Acces Control'? 

It looks like one of the libraries is missing.
Please try full uninstall and installing back
- uninstall recorder
- restart the computer
- installer the recorder
- restart once again

Please try to update Windows installer, and install the recorder once again. Make sure that no 3rd party computer security software or any other similar software is blocking connection between Skype recorder and Skype. Make sure that you are installing the latest version of recorder from this website.

Hello, just one question.
I just tried to record a conversation of 1 hour. I put on the recording after starting the conversation. After 45 minutes the internet went down for a short while, when it was re-established we maintained the conversation for 15 minutes.
When I looked up the files afterward, I only saw the one covering the last 15 minutes of the conversation. Is it somehow possible that the program could have overwritten the recording of the first 45 minutes?

Many thanks for your application!!!
Howeer sometimes it doesn't record sessions. I didn't get why. During call it shows that it is recording but after all filesize is 0. With the same contacts sometimes it works sometimes not.
How to fix it?
