  • Stopping recording during conference sometime causes failing to start record again in this conference session.

Hi, I came across your plugin via one of your comments on one of the existing Skype-recording apps! Thanks for a great app that works well!
This is not an error report but more a suggestion if you accept feedback here.
One thing I was hoping to see which I'm used to on other apps hiding in my Windows tray is some change in the icon to indicate whether it was active or not. So what would be practical is if the icon gave you some indication if the recording was ON or OFF.
By the way, the "About" link in your app points to the page with the old version of MP3 Skype. Thanks again.

Hello and thanks for the great software.  I am however having some trouble.  I am running Windows 7 and Skype Recorder always says "Waiting for Skype".  I tried to authorize manually from Tools | Advanced and MP# Skype Recorder is not an option there.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling etc. with the same outcome.
Any advice on this issue?

Hello
Restart the computer after installation, this should help on Win 7
If it doesn't, check if any antivirus is blocking connection between Skype and recorder.
Regards

I downloaded this Skype recorder, but it will only record the first few seconds of the conversation. I have followed all the instructions. I have now uninstalled it as I have tried several times to record Skype conversations and the same thing happens , it only records the first couple of seconds. What is wrong?

just finished using program and cant find where the file is save. When i checked with the program it shows it saving to a folder that isnt on my PC. any tips on finding the file?

Clicking on the "Play" button (the 3rd on top with triangle) should open the folder containing records. If the folder does not exist, the records could not be saved, choose the existing folder by clicking the folder icon next to the path textbox.

Done installing the recorder 1.9.0.1. and it's all set only for one. Every time I record a call and do the play back, I can only hear the person I spoke with but not my voice. Can you help me please? Thank you!

If you are using stereo mode, make sure that both pc speakers are working, because one side of conversation is recorded to the left channel and the other to the right. Try mono mode.

Make sure that no personal firewall is blocking connection between Skype and MP3 Skype recorder.

This thread is for 1.8.3 version please use this MP3 Skype recorder 1.9.0. topic

I used the skype recorder earlier this year and recorded a VERY important phone conversation and when I played it back it originally played on one side(because I recorded in stereo) but when I play it back now it is very garbled and you are unable to distinguish what is being said? I have tried opening the file up in many MP3 players with the same results. I even tried to use another program that uses the LAME MP3 encoder with no difference? Can anyone help me!

I find that when I am recording with this software and I go to play back the file, the other speakers come through clearly and fine without cutting in and out, while it seems that this software is causing my microphone to cut in and out, causing some things that I am saying not only to not be recorded but also not to be heard by the other speakers in the conversation.

Not sure what is causing such behaviour. Recorder is not working with microphone, but with Skype directly and could not influence microphone performance as for my knowledge.

I downloaded the software for Windows yesterday, did an outgoing test call, and it recorded fine, mp3 file showed up on my desktop. When I recorded an incoming call today, the MP3 Skype Recorder showed that Recording was ON, but no file ever appeared afterward.
I had access allowed through Skype, so there was no firewall issue that I know of, but the file does not exist. Any reason why this might happen?

Running Windows XP, SP 3.   4 gigs RAM.
When a call is answered, I get a prompt, "error creating destination file".

Checked firewall, and it doesn't even see the program in Program Files folder.  How do I get this to create an .mp3 file?

Is there anyone still monitoring this?
I've downloaded this program and it simply doesn't work. When I run it I get "Error connecting to Skype - No Skype detected or your Skype version doesn't have Skype Extras Manager and not supporting 3rd party plugins, e.g. Skype Beta versions or Sky Business versions"
I do have Skype Extras Manager and am using neither a Beta version nor the business version.
I am using Win XP with SP3, can anyone help me?

Please see this topic http://voipcallrecording.com/no_skype_extras_manager_error
I'm pretty sure that you don't have Skype Extras Manager. There is some naming confusion: you can have Skype Extras, but still have no Skype Extras manager. Please follow the steps described in the topic linked above.

Check that file is not empty - 0B. If it is empty check that no personal firewall is blocking connection between Skype and Skype recorder. Otherwise please try another MP3 player, e.g. Winamp.

 Hello.
So I've been trying to record some podcasts with my fellow friends on skype, but when I open the folder where the files are meant to be stored at, they're not there, as if I didn't record anything. Any way I can fix this?
