UPDATE: This topic is only for v 0.5.3.1 users, as new version 0.6.2.1 of Skype Call Recorder was released

This topic was created for reporting bugs and errors found in Skype Call Recorder program, if any.

Please leave information regarding bugs along with the version of Skype Call Recorder used, Skype and Windows versions in the comments below

Many thanks

Note: Please post any ideas and features you would like to see in the future versions in the TODO topic

Low risk alert on Vista after starting a call. Why?

The alert is appearing on the first recording because Skype Call Recording is using local port for getting sound from Skype. It is just a "too suspicious" Vista, some firewalls could give same alerts. The information on this behaviour is added to Help page and Skype Call Recording product page

i get the following message when i start skypecall recorder
anyone with any information on how this can be fixed would be much apreciated.
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Hello
I think i need more information to help you with this.
Could you please specifiy your OS, version of .NET framework and could you please send me (or post here the content of) log file,  you can find it in installation folder, mostly likely to be C:\Program Files\SkypeCallRecorder
E.g. Log_1_7_2009.log.
Many thanks for your message

I'm experiencing a problem when receiving calls from undisclosed numbers. The calls are not being recorded. A file is created but the length is 0. Also the file has no .mp3 extension. Here is an example filename...
2009-01-28 time 14_54_07 Incoming Telephone Call undisclosed_pstn

SCR version is 0.5.3.1
Skype version is 3.8.0.188
.Net version is 2.0 SP1
Windows version is XP pro, version 2002 SP3 with all updates applied.

Please let me know what other information you'd like.

After clicking to "help" it open voipcallrecording/skyperecorderhelp/ without ".com"

When I uncheck the "run skype recorder at system startup" box and exit the program, the next time I run Skype Recorder, the box comes up checked again.
Running: Skype Call Recorder 0.5.3.1, Skype 3.8.0.139, Windows XP Media Center Edition.

Hey, this problem is actually bigger than I thought. The Skype Recorer program ALWAYS comes up when the system is booted, even if I had unchecked the "run skype recorder at system startup" box before exiting the program the previous time it was run. In other words, there is no way to turn off this function--the checkbox doesn't seem to have any effect at all! I hope you guys can fix this, as I find the tool very useful, but I don't want it to come up automatically every time I boot the computer.

Thanks...

Hello
Thanks for pointing the problem. Will do my best to fix it. Meanwhile you can go to registry (use regedit) and delete Skype Call Recorder key from
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
This will help.
ADDED: I found the bug in the code, will be fixed in next version 0.6.1 coming soon

Installed recorder and tested ok. However now I am getting "Error creating destination file". i have uninstalled and re-installed and still getting same error message.

May I ask you to give some details: OS, .NET framework version.
Did you try to change path to MP3 folder, to be sure that you(the user you are logged on) have rights to create files in this folder?

I've noticed that both on my XP and Vista machines, SCR will consume more and more memory.  I never shut down my machines so it keeps building.  Just now it was listed at 66MB in Task Manager.  Doesn't seem to cause any problems, and I simply restart it to get it back down to 8MB, so it's not affecting the usability of SCR.
Great program!  Thanks for making it!  I'm a programmer myself and I've been using it to review calls over specs.  It's been a great help.

   When on call, the recorder records my voice great, but I can not hear the other person's voice on playback.
Suggestions?  How can I fix this?
