After a call ends, the recorder pops up and demands attention.  I have no idea why this is; I"m well aware that a call ended, and that it was recorded, and that the recording is finished.
Yet, I must click the system box to get rid of this damned thing.
That's why I'm looking for another recorder.  I don't mind paying; I mind having to do useless things.
Maybe with this info you can get some paying customers?  Dunno.

The popup on the end of recording gives you a shortlink to the last record.

Keep an eye on this site, I'm going to release new separate shareware recording tool soon.

Hello,
Just downloaded the latest version of MP3 Skype Recorder 1.9.0.1 and it looks like it is not recording in stereo mode.
After I record and play the conversation my voice comes out on the left side and the other contacts voice on the right side, even though I have the option for stereo.
is this the way the recorder works or is it a problem?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Pedro Sanchez, Jr.

Hello. It should recording in stereo as long as you use stereo or joint stereo mode settings. Check  if you switch the radio-button to one of above settings. Please check if there is MP3Recorder.ini in C:\Program Files\MP3 Skype Recorder folder, if it still recording in mono. Please check nMode in it, what does it show when you choose stereo?

Hi,
When I choose Mono (nmode = 3), Stereo (nmode = 0), Joint Stereo (nmode = 1)

Should be working. I'll take a closer look what could cause this.

Just a bit more info:
Current version for Skype is 4.1.0.141
OS: Windows XP Pro SP3

HI,
I downloaded the last version MP3 Skype Recorder v.1.8.6,
i installed it and i start the tests to check is relly recording skype calls,
i check all options and it not recording... it only show messages that call is recorded and it create file with name of call, but this file is empty, only few bytes.
This software only creating empty file with name of call(date, user name, phone).
Why?

Thanks for help,
beta version MP3 Skype Recorder v.1.8.8 seems work fine.

Hi, great product - but!
- In a real call (30 minutes long) with SkypeOut to a landline number in France, it only recorded the earphone track - but not the microphone.
- It worked fine on a local call (SkypeOut) to Switzerland after I made the French call.
- It works fine with the Skype Test Service, recording both the "earphone-track" on the right channel and the "microphone-track" on the left channel.
The recording mode was set to "Stereo" but strangelythe earphone channel was on both left and right channels.
Any help?
Thanks!
Windows XP, Service Pack 3, .NET v2.0.50727,

Hi. It's a great product and it works great however there is one issue for me. Whenever I start MP3SkypeRecorder it runs its installer first and then it does something and only after that it runs. However if I delete MP3SkypeRecorder.msi it won't start.
It just says that the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. So basically it will not work without msi file even though it is already installed.
Any clues? Thanks

Did you get an Unhandled Exception the first time you installed it, or the first time program ran?

No errors whatsoever. Installation was just fine.

I have this problem too, i.e. every time I click on the icon to run MP3SkypeRecorder it goes through the install process each time. But I have found if I set it up to start automatically at Windows startup it will work fine.

Yes, same for me. However I prefer to start program manualy when I need it and I don't won't it running all the time.

Oh, I forgot to mention. I have Windows XP sp3. Previous version worked fine.
Thanks

Intresting.
The fact that it runs installer each time means, that when you start application it founds that something is missing from installation.
Did you run installer as administarator? if not, try to start installer as administrator.

Yes I did try that too. I tried to install for all users, just me, as administrator, with under user name and every time is the same. At startup it runs installer first. So I am stuck with msi file at the desktop.

Hello
Could you check Event Viewer after the startup and forced installation process, if there is any errors for Mp3 Skype Recorder
Control Panel -> Administrative tool -> Event Viewer -> Application

There are some warnings in event log:
1. warning

2. warning

and if I delete msi file from the desktop there is an error:
3. error (only if msi file is missing)
Product: MP3 Skype Recorder -- Error 1706. An installation package for the product MP3 Skype Recorder cannot be found. Try the installation again using a valid copy of the installation package 'MP3SkypeRecorder.msi'.
I hope that helps. Thanks.

I played a bit with MP3 Skype Recorder and I found out:
1. If I keep the checkmark for "start automatically at windows startup" then I can Exit MP3SkypeRecorder and start it again without any issues.
2. If I remove that checkmark then the installer runs prior MP3 Skype Recorder.
So, maybe there is a problem with that checkbox?
Thanks again for great program.

Hello
Thank you for help in locating the problem. I've just released the fixed version 1.8.4. Please update.
Hope this will help

Problem: Recorded files are 0 bit size

Have installed last versions of MP3 Recorder & Skype. Recorder is allowed in Skype, not firewall'ed. All seems to be ok, just there are "dummy" 0bit mp3's after stopping record.

I have the same problem.
It records but the file does not have any content 0 bit.
I have Windows XP Prof. with all patches.
And I deinstalled and installed last versions of MP3 Recorder (1.8.3.1) & Skype (4.0.0227).

What OS are you using, what is the version of SKype.
Did you tried the previous version of MP3 Skype Recorder - Skype Call Recorder?

WinXP Home Ed. SP3 x32
Last available version of Skype, downloaded today, also 4.0.0.227.
I have tryed version 0.7.2.1 and it works fine (al least one test call)

ups, its my comment, just logged out )

Could you try to install  latest version of MP3 Skype Recorder and check if there are any errors, during installation, startup or recording.
Many thanks for reporting.

I've installed version 1.8.3.1 No errors/error messages occours at all.

And still no recording? I could suggest you to use older version for a while and I'll try to find the problem

Hi, I want you to know that you are not the only one with that problem. I just formated my computer, re-installed everything + updates(winXP sp3). Installed last version of Skype and Skype recorder. Everything looks to work fine but the files are 0kb and unreadeable. Thx.
Yann

The new version didn't work for me. When it started after installing, it kept waiting for Skype to start, but it never did. I exited and started again, but now nothing happens. The icon appears in the corner of the taskbar, but disappears when I scroll over it. That's all that happens.

Hi
Sometimes Skype forgets to ask the permission to allow 3rd party program to use Skype. In this case you have to do it manually through Skype options as described here.
Go to Skype, choose Tools in the upper menu ->
options->
advanced->
manage other program's access to Skype->
In the new window choose MP3 Skype Recorder.exe->
click Change ->
Choose Allow this program to use Skype and click OK

After that restart the system. This will help you. You will need to do it only once.

But that won't explain why every time I open MP3 Skype Recorder, nothing happens. An icon appears in the tray icon, but it disappears when I hover over it with the mouse.

This happens when the program fails to start. Does restarting the system helps?

I get an Unhandled Exception. Actually got this during install. MP3 Skype recorder showing up in tray but any time I try to do anything I get an error. If I close it down (after clicking around error message) and try to restart program it goes into the install process.
Still does not install properly as there is no MP3 Skype Recorder in Programs list in Control Panel. I removed MP3 Skype folder, and tried to install again. I get the MP3 Skype "repair or uninstall" so I completely uninstall.
Then I reinstall and no error on install. But now when I click on MP3 Skype Recorder in tray I get an Unhandled Exception. I am running Vista Home Premium - Service Pack 2 and Skype 4.0.0.227 and Extras Manager is installed.

Thank you so much. The 1.8.4.1 update fixes these problems I was having. Awesome!

I have tried my best to test this and give you some feedback so you can figure this out but I'm not getting anywhere. Every single time I install on this machine I get the above error message and he program is flaky. However, if I set it up to start automatically and minimized when Windows (VISTA) starts everything is fine.
But if I try to do anything in manual mode, forget it. It blows up every single time. Something is happening here but I have no idea how to track it down.
On another note, I can install it on my wife's machine and it installs and runs without incident. So I'm lost why it would install and run fine on hers and not on mine. There is a conflict of some kind somewhere, but it's out of my league tracking it down.
Thanks

Thank you for reporting. Is your VISTA 64 or 32?  I'll try to figure this out.
At the moment you are the only one with such a problem.
There is a chance that something wrong with your windows installer. In fact it is windows installer who is running installation process. You can try to reinstall it ttp://www.microsoft.com/downloadS/details.aspx?familyid=5A58B56F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displaylang=en

Hmmm... I might have found something. Both my wife and I are running VISTA 32, but... she has Service Pack 1 and I have Service Pack 2 installed on mine. And of course mine is the machine the install fails and I'm seeing all kinds of weird things. Maybe this is a VISTA Service Pack 2 issue.

Don't know for sure but possibly this has something to do with it?

Thanks I"ll test this

Ok, I have installed and uninstalled numerous times and I believe it finally got installed correctly. In addition I think I may have found a work around for myself in terms of running the program.
As long as I have MP3 Skype Recorder set up to automatically at Windows startup and start minimized all seems to work fine. But if I have it set to manual mode where I have to click the icon to start up MP3Skype, that is where I seem to get into trouble. Now I'm going to do more testing with actual recordings.
Thank you

That sounds weird. No idea what at the moment what is causing this strange behavior on your system. If you have more errors let me know, please copy error message, as you did in the first post.

Above bug report is from me. Sorry I did not set up an account first.
Mark

Hello
Thank you for reporting. Could you please try to uninstall it, and install the previous version. Please let me know if that version installing OK.

Yes, previous version installs and runs fine with no exception handling errors. Issue I have with old version is recording quality, clipping or distortion. Let me know what I can do to help
Thank you
