just finished using program and cant find where the file is save. When i checked with the program it shows it saving to a folder that isnt on my PC. any tips on finding the file?
Clicking on the "Play" button (the 3rd on top with triangle) should open the folder containing records. If the folder does not exist, the records could not be saved, choose the existing folder by clicking the folder icon next to the path textbox.
I downloaded this Skype recorder, but it will only record the first few seconds of the conversation. I have followed all the instructions. I have now uninstalled it as I have tried several times to record Skype conversations and the same thing happens , it only records the first couple of seconds. What is wrong?
Hello and thanks for the great software. I am however having some trouble. I am running Windows 7 and Skype Recorder always says "Waiting for Skype". I tried to authorize manually from Tools | Advanced and MP# Skype Recorder is not an option there.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling etc. with the same outcome.
Any advice on this issue?
Hello
Restart the computer after installation, this should help on Win 7
If it doesn't, check if any antivirus is blocking connection between Skype and recorder.

Hi, I came across your plugin via one of your comments on one of the existing Skype-recording apps! Thanks for a great app that works well!
This is not an error report but more a suggestion if you accept feedback here.
One thing I was hoping to see which I'm used to on other apps hiding in my Windows tray is some change in the icon to indicate whether it was active or not. So what would be practical is if the icon gave you some indication if the recording was ON or OFF.
By the way, the "About" link in your app points to the page with the old version of MP3 Skype. Thanks again.
On Windows 7, the latest verison, if you record for a long time (around 4-6 hours) the hard disks get hot and they can't keep up with the constant writing to the disk that the program does. I suggest storing 30-60 seconds of data and then writing it to the disk to avoid the Disk I/O errors I get which gives my computer a BSOD.
I use 2 1tb hard disks, one external and one internal. I know these are disk issues because when it happens Skype will close and say "Disk I/O error" and then everything stops working and the computer restarts itself.
That or at least give options like this for advanced users, then this program would work flawlessly.
Thanks.
I received a .NET framework error message. See Below

Hello,
Just downloaded the latest version of MP3 Skype Recorder 1.9.0.1 and it looks like it is not recording in stereo mode.
After I record and play the conversation my voice comes out on the left side and the other contacts voice on the right side, even though I have the option for stereo.

Hello. It should recording in stereo as long as you use stereo or joint stereo mode settings. Check if you switch the radio-button to one of above settings. Please check if there is MP3Recorder.ini in C:\Program Files\MP3 Skype Recorder folder, if it still recording in mono. Please check nMode in it, what does it show when you choose stereo?

Hi, great product - but!
- In a real call (30 minutes long) with SkypeOut to a landline number in France, it only recorded the earphone track - but not the microphone.
- It worked fine on a local call (SkypeOut) to Switzerland after I made the French call.
- It works fine with the Skype Test Service, recording both the "earphone-track" on the right channel and the "microphone-track" on the left channel.
The recording mode was set to "Stereo" but strangelythe earphone channel was on both left and right channels.
Any help?
Thanks!
Windows XP, Service Pack 3, .NET v2.0.50727,
Hi. It's a great product and it works great however there is one issue for me. Whenever I start MP3SkypeRecorder it runs its installer first and then it does something and only after that it runs. However if I delete MP3SkypeRecorder.msi it won't start.
It just says that the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. So basically it will not work without msi file even though it is already installed.
Any clues? Thanks
I have this problem too, i.e. every time I click on the icon to run MP3SkypeRecorder it goes through the install process each time. But I have found if I set it up to start automatically at Windows startup it will work fine.
Intresting.
The fact that it runs installer each time means, that when you start application it founds that something is missing from installation.
Did you run installer as administarator? if not, try to start installer as administrator.
Yes I did try that too. I tried to install for all users, just me, as administrator, with under user name and every time is the same. At startup it runs installer first. So I am stuck with msi file at the desktop.

I played a bit with MP3 Skype Recorder and I found out:
1. If I keep the checkmark for "start automatically at windows startup" then I can Exit MP3SkypeRecorder and start it again without any issues.
2. If I remove that checkmark then the installer runs prior MP3 Skype Recorder.
So, maybe there is a problem with that checkbox?
Thanks again for great program.

Many thanks for reporting.
Hi, I want you to know that you are not the only one with that problem. I just formated my computer, re-installed everything + updates(winXP sp3). Installed last version of Skype and Skype recorder. Everything looks to work fine but the files are 0kb and unreadeable. Thx.
Yann
The new version didn't work for me. When it started after installing, it kept waiting for Skype to start, but it never did. I exited and started again, but now nothing happens. The icon appears in the corner of the taskbar, but disappears when I scroll over it. That's all that happens.
Hi
Sometimes Skype forgets to ask the permission to allow 3rd party program to use Skype. In this case you have to do it manually through Skype options as described here.
Go to Skype, choose Tools in the upper menu ->
options->
advanced->
manage other program's access to Skype->
In the new window choose MP3 Skype Recorder.exe->
click Change ->
Choose Allow this program to use Skype and click OK
After that restart the system. This will help you. You will need to do it only once.
But that won't explain why every time I open MP3 Skype Recorder, nothing happens. An icon appears in the tray icon, but it disappears when I hover over it with the mouse.
I get an Unhandled Exception. Actually got this during install. MP3 Skype recorder showing up in tray but any time I try to do anything I get an error. If I close it down (after clicking around error message) and try to restart program it goes into the install process.
Still does not install properly as there is no MP3 Skype Recorder in Programs list in Control Panel. I removed MP3 Skype folder, and tried to install again. I get the MP3 Skype "repair or uninstall" so I completely uninstall.
Then I reinstall and no error on install. But now when I click on MP3 Skype Recorder in tray I get an Unhandled Exception. I am running Vista Home Premium - Service Pack 2 and Skype 4.0.0.227 and Extras Manager is installed.

I have tried my best to test this and give you some feedback so you can figure this out but I'm not getting anywhere. Every single time I install on this machine I get the above error message and he program is flaky. However, if I set it up to start automatically and minimized when Windows (VISTA) starts everything is fine.
But if I try to do anything in manual mode, forget it. It blows up every single time. Something is happening here but I have no idea how to track it down.
On another note, I can install it on my wife's machine and it installs and runs without incident. So I'm lost why it would install and run fine on hers and not on mine. There is a conflict of some kind somewhere, but it's out of my league tracking it down.
Thanks

No it absolutely did not work. I am on Windows 7 64-bit. It never gets out of the waiting for Skype state.
I figured it out myself. Theres a hidden window in Skype saying MP3 recorder is asking for access. Clicked on OK and it finally worked. :)

Should be working. I'll take a closer look what could cause this.

I've installed version 1.8.3.1 No errors/error messages occours at all.

Thank you so much. The 1.8.4.1 update fixes these problems I was having. Awesome!
Thanks
