It didn't show up in the list, so I couldn't authenticate it. Skype recognized it after I restarted though, so it's working now.

I have installed the latest version 1.8.4.1 and it corrects the issues I was having with install and manual startup. Thank you!
But I still have not been able to figure out how to get rid of the pops in my recordings. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Here is a link to a test file that demonstrates the problem I'm having:

Hi Firstly update the Skype,
Hi
Firstly update the Skype, you are not using the latest version and there are few bugs reported in version 4.0.0.227.
If it doesn't help, uninstall MP3 Skype Recorder and try previous version of recorder
Do you have any personal
Do you have any personal firewall installed, like Norton Protection Center? If yes, then it should ask you to allow MP3 Skype Recorder to listen local port. Probably you just clicked not allow, when it asked, so MP3 Skype Recorder could not listen to Skype.

also where do i get a later release of your skype recorder....as i need 2 record asap
I'm really grateful for all
I'm really grateful for all the work that you've put into this tool. However, this 0kb file problem is really, really bad. If you have the previous version installed, it suggest that you upgrade. If you do, you stand a decent chance of being unable to record anything.
After losing about 45 minutes of work because of this issue, and delaying a podcast interview I had scheduled, I'd suggest doing something to limit the distribution of v1.8.4 until you solve the problem.

Please check if any personal
Please check if any personal firewall is preventing MP3 Skype Recorder from accessing Skype. This may cause 0kb records

here is my feedback:
it works with the older version Skype Call Recorder 0.7.2. - windows firewall asked my to allow access for the older version, but not for the 1.8.4 - i reinstalled the 1.8.4 and checked the ports and sercurity setting, everything ok, means that even though windows firewall knows and allows the recorder to access, it doesnt work as it did with the older version for which i had explicidly allow the access (pop up from windows). so, ill use the 0.7.2. version (link above). thx and good luck ;)
