Desktop Call Recorder 3.6 is available. It records WeChat calls, and WeChat and WhatsApp recordings now get the contact's name. Earlier 3.x versions update automatically.
Voice and video calls in WeChat for Windows (version 4 and later) are now detected and recorded automatically. WeChat recordings have the WeChat icon in the recordings list, and the messenger filter has a WeChat choice.
The recording is named after the contact, and the transcript shows that name on their lines. In a voice call the name comes from the WeChat call window. The video call window shows no name, so the app takes it from the chat that WeChat adds the finished call to. When WeChat does not show one clear name, the recording is called WeChat recording.
Contact names for WhatsApp calls
WhatsApp recordings are now named after the contact in the WhatsApp call window. That is the saved name, or the phone number when the person is not in your contacts. The transcript uses the same name for the other side of the call.
There are also other small fixes.
The free version transcribes the first 3 minutes of each call. Pro has no limit.
