Desktop Call Recorder 3.2 is available. You can now search inside your transcripts, rename the person you talked to, and copy a transcript with one click. Installed copies of 3.1 update automatically.

Search in transcripts

The search box above the recordings list now looks through the transcripts too, not only the recording names. If you remember what was said in a call but not when, type a word from it.

• One box searches names, notes and transcript text. A counter in the box shows how many recordings matched.
• Under the box you can switch between All, Names and Transcripts to see where each match came from, without typing the query again.
• For a transcript match the list shows the line where the word was found. Click it and the recording plays from that moment.
• The transcript panel has its own find bar. It highlights every match, shows "3 of 7" and jumps to the next or previous one.
• Search does not care about upper or lower case and works with any language the transcription supports.
• The date and messenger filters still work together with the search.

Rename the contact

Until now a recording kept whatever name it got when the call was recorded. Now you can change it.

• Click the small edit icon next to the name in the recordings list, or the same icon at the top of the transcript panel. Type the new name and press Enter.
• The MP3 file, its .txt and .srt transcript files and the title stored in the MP3 are renamed together. The speaker name in the transcript changes as well, so every line now shows the right person.
• The list shows the contact name. If there is none, it shows which app the call was made in. Hover over a name to see the full file name.

Copy the transcript

• A new copy button in the transcript panel puts the whole transcript on the clipboard, with times and speaker names, ready to paste into an email or a document.
• Your own lines were always labelled "Me". You can now put your name there instead: Settings, Transcription, "Your name in transcripts". It is used for new transcriptions.

Other changes

• On new installs, recording files get the date and the contact name in the file name, so they are easy to find in Explorer. Existing files are not renamed.
• Fixed: automatic transcription sometimes did not start after a manually started recording.
• Fixed: on a fresh install, or after changing the recordings folder, new recordings did not show up in the list until the app was restarted.
• Fixed: after editing a transcript, the .txt file kept the old text. Both files are now saved.
• If a transcription comes out empty, the panel now says so and links to the transcription settings instead of just staying blank.
• The app always shows the real expiry date of your Pro subscription. If an automatic renewal payment fails, the app tells you and shows a "Fix payment" button that opens the page where you can pay or change the card.

Search, renaming and copying work in the free version as well. The free version still transcribes the first 3 minutes of each call, Pro has no limit.
